It was our pleasure to work with Otherside Entertainment and Megabit Publishing to create the inaugural trailer for Warren Spector’s Thick as Thieves, ready for debut at The Game Awards 2024!

Otherside came to us with an early version of a storyboard and an idea of the wonderful game mechanics they wanted to display, so we got to work on how to present this new take on stealth in the best way possible. From script rewrites and some intensive pre-vis, we decided on an ambitious hybrid approach combining custom animation and cinematics with game capture.

We leant into the Thick As Thieves alternate history, moody look and feel, and experimented with dynamic lighting throughout. We created three custom, highly stylised smash breakouts to properly introduce the three intriguing playable characters.

Set dressing across all scenes in Unreal, we took a lot of care making sure the game looked its best and maintained a gorgeous atmosphere throughout to support the narrative journey.

Finished off with some stunning audio design featuring VO talent plus a big name track courtesy of Jane’s Addiction to tie everything together, and we have one of our favourite trailers of 2024.
